Expert system for determining the individual style of mathematical thinking

On April 9, 2021, a seminar was held on the development of an expert system for determining the individual style of mathematical thinking.

The seminar was held as part of the program of the world-class scientific center "Pavlovsk Center" Integrative Physiology - Medicine, High-Tech Healthcare and Stress Resistant Technologies "and research in the field of building hybrid intelligence conducted at the International Innovative Institute of Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and Communications named after A. A.S. Popov St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University "LETI" (hereinafter referred to as the Institute of AI).

With the main report “System approach to the typology of mathematical thinking. Individual styles of mathematical thinking and designing educational trajectories” was presented by Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Peryazev N.A. The seminar was attended by leading experts in the field of human cognitive sphere from IEPhB RAS and specialists in the field of mathematical methods and artificial intelligence of the Institute of AI of St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University “LETI”.

During the report, a proposal was made to develop an integrated approach with the creation of an integrated system and methods for determining the individual style of mathematical thinking, which will include a comparison of the following expert systems and methods: determining the individual style of mathematical thinking based on psychological experiments using artificial intelligence methods; identification of human cognitive processes, features of the state of the human brain in the process of mathematical activity.

The seminar is supported by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation by the Agreement № 075-15-2020-933 dated 13.11.2020 on the provision of a grant in the form of subsidies from the federal budget for the implementation of state support for the establishment​ and development of the world-class scientific center «Pavlov​ center «Integrative physiology for medicine, high-tech healthcare,​ and stress-resilience technologies» (NCMU)
